If you haven’t noticed already, I added a new page entitled

On this page, you can ask us to add your favorite song(s) to our MiniPod music player. Make sure the songs aren't profane. We won't accept any heavy metal, scream, or grunge. Hip-Hop, R&B, pop and a little bit of rap are the ones that will most likely be added. Don't be surprised if your song(s) are/is not picked. Anyway, the following songs were added to the MiniPod:

  1. I Want You Back By Michael Jackson, In loving memory
  2. Man In The Mirror by Michael Jackson, In loving memory
  3. Thriller By Michael Jackson, In loving memory
  4. A-punk By Vampire Weekend, Sam’s favorite song
  5. I’m Yours By Jason Mraz
  6. Back In Black By AcDc
  7. That’s Not My Name By The Ting Tings
  8. Another One Bites The Dust By Queen
  9. Thnks Fr Th Mmrs By Fall Out Boy
  10. Nine In The Afternoon By Panic At The Disco, This song actually inspired the name for our blog, if you didn’t know

Also, Michael Jackson’s death has taken a predicted huge impact on pop culture today. Three of his songs have made it to the top 10 list on iTunes. I have added Man In the Mirror to the MiniPod. I have a feeling those songs are going to stay on the iTunes list for a while, as most big impacts do. Michael Jackson was more than a singer, or a songwriter. He was a visionary, he created, and paved the path for modern Pop and Hip-Hop artists. Coincidentally, I added a MiniPod music player yesterday, before Jackson’s death.  If you didn’t know who Michael Jackson was (yFrog), I suggest you do some research and quit living under a rock. He was ridiculed for his molestation charges, and was not remembered for the amazing things he did. My generation does not really  know the sheer immenseness that is Jackson. Michael Jackson will be forever missed, unmatchable, and untouchable. I won’t be adding any funny pictures to this post, it’s just not fitting. Twitter has made a huge impact on life as we know it, and how information is spread. I found out about his death by Twitter. Twitter has impacted everyone’s life, so I thank Twitter for that. My favorite Michael Jackson song was “I Want You Back”.What was your favorite Michael Jackson song?

And This… Is Thriller

Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead today at 4:15 central time, after paramedics found him in cardiac arrest at his Bel-Air mansion. I was a huge fan of Michael Jackson. From The Jackson Five, to Thriller. If you hadn’t already known, I had used his great hit, I Want You Back, in my Panic Button History Video.

I was informed about this tragedy at 4:43, by Twitter update on my phone while watching Transformers 2. Michael Jackson will be known for numerous achievements.

  • Inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1984
  • The album, Thriller,  remained in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 for 80 consecutive weeks and 37 of those weeks at the peak position. Thriller remains the highest selling album of all time.
  • Jackson was also an inductee of the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002.
  • His awards include multiple Guinness World Records (eight in 2006 alone), 13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career—more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era—and the sale of over 750 million albums worldwide, making him the world’s best selling male pop artist.

Jackson, age 50, died as he was attempting a comeback after years of tabloid headlines, most notably his trial and acquittal on child molestation charges. People made fun of him due to these charges. His name became a mockery, when no one in my generation really knew what he had accomplished, and how much those charges didn’t matter. He broke down racial barriers, transformed the art of the music video and paved the way for modern pop music in his own country. Jackson’s work, distinctive musical sound and vocal style have influenced hip hop, pop and R&B artists. Michael Jackson was more than just an artist, a composer, he was the greatest artist of all time, and that’s no opinion. He will be missed, all around the world. In his short lifetime, he was able to accomplish so much. He will forever stand a role model to all incoming artists and singers. Rest in peace Michael Jackson, rest in peace.

Jjacobb: It’s just devastating. And Farrah Fawcett dying too! “tear”. For all the info on Michael, visit this site.

Music Player On The Sidebar!

Posted: 25 Jun 2009 12:59 PM PDT

If you haven’t noticed already, there’s a little something on the right sidebar.

I knew how to get a MixPod.com player on the website, but I didn’t know how to get it on the sidebar. I played around with the HTML, and got it! So far there’s only 10 songs on there. When you come onto the website, it automatically starts to play when it becomes visible on your computer. If you want it turned off, just click the play/pause button, or turn down your volume. Currently, the following songs are on it.

  1. Funkytown by Lipps, Inc.
  2. Apologize by Timbaland Feat. One Republic
  3. Read My Mind by The Killers
  4. Pork And Beans by Weezer
  5. I’ve Got A Feeling by Black Eyed Peas
  6. Pump It by Black Eyed Peas (From The Panic Button description video)
  7. I Am The Walrus by The Beatles
  8. Superstar by Lupe Fiasco
  9. Viva La Vida by Coldplay
  10. Violet Hill by Coldplay

Hope you guys like it! Have anymore songs you want on the player? Just ask, and we’ll listen to the song and decide whether or not to add it!
